FlashCards updates
Posted on April 2nd, 2010 No commentsAlthough the biggest changes are under the hood (merged major changes from the parent project), but there some visible changes too that are interesting.
- Dictionary lookup page is now easier to use, by showing less dictionaries at first, the most frequently used ones.
- Adjusted texts. Hopefully the messages are clearer and easier to understand.
Finally, there is a wizard for users who login for the first time. Wait a minute, wasn’t this already announced? Yes it was, and then a next post said ‘it is in the pipeline’, so to set the record straight, yes, there is a wizard, there has been for a while.

FlashCards updates
Posted on November 27th, 2009 No comments- Reviewed all dictionaries and fixed anything that was broken. In other words, all dictionaries are supposed to be working now.
- Fixed all unit tests and setup daily process to run them and send alert emails. In other words, I will be nagged forever from the moment something is broken until I fix it. Wonderful isn’t it? (For you, I mean)

FlashCards maintenance
Posted on October 17th, 2009 No commentsUgh, Merriam-Webster changed their interface again. This breaks the plugin in FlashCards, and since I didn’t have time to fix it, this dictionary was broken for more than a week. Now it is fixed, check it out!

Serious bugfix on Flash Cards
Posted on August 26th, 2009 No commentsWell not so much a “bugfix”, as a critical maintenance update. Recently Merriam-Webster dictionary changed their website, breaking our plugin that downloads word definitions on demand. We updated the plugin to handle this change, now it should work again. Knock yourselves out!

Many new features on CityBazaar
Posted on August 24th, 2009 No commentsThis is pretty belated announcement, but better late than never eh?
A bunch of new features were added to CityBazaar, and already released a while ago.
- Added archive sale function.
- Improved site navigation.
- Item state can now be edited easily on the items list page, without opening items one by one.
- Improved summary page text, and added number of photos per item.
- Added portal view, to browse ongoing sales. This is the new default start page.
- Fixed several minor bugs.
Check it out!

New English-English dictionary on Flash Cards
Posted on July 26th, 2009 No commentsThe American Heritage Dictionary site has been broken for about a month now. It doesn’t look like they will ever fix it. Added Merriam-Webster instead as a remedy. Replaced the dictionary in demos and importable word lists too..
Up next is probably a proper Wizard similar to CityBazaar. Not too soon though. Some optimization on RadioBytes is more critical for now, but actually these days I’m concentrating on cool new features for CityBazaar.

Added Wizard for CityBazaar
Posted on July 17th, 2009 No commentsIn the long time that passed a lot has changed under the hood, but I won’t bother you dear precious reader about the gory technical details.
- Added a Wizard for CityBazaar. This should make it a lot easier for new users to get their sale page started. The Wizard is enabled by default, so existing users will see it too, until they walk through the steps, at which point it will disable itself. Maybe next I will add a cutesy dolphin too? Yeah, through my dead body…
- All the site texts were reviewed and improved.
- A few hard to find but quite critical bugs are fixed now.
Next will come most aesthetical improvements. Yeah, in the current version the Wizard is not exactly pretty. I couldn’t wait adding it, because despite the looks, the new functionality is significant. This will be fixed soon, and a bunch of other improvements are coming too in a few more days.

RadioBytes official release
Posted on May 25th, 2009 No commentsDefinitely a lot sooner than I promised (or expected), RadioBytes is no longer beta!
New features:
- Streams can be added via tracker URL or pls URL. In either case, the URL is validated before actually adding.
- Current song title is updated via AJAX on all radio station listing pages.
- Shoutcast radio stations listing page, organized by genre, updated once an hour.
Road map:
- June: add to favourites function: any radio station from the shoutcast listings
- August: record songs
Best of all, the site has a proper domain name now:
Check it out!

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you RadioBytes
Posted on May 17th, 2009 No commentsDon’t get too excited yet, the project is still in beta, and as such, very, very limited in functions. This new project RadioBytes is about listening to internet radio in the browser, without any additional software. And that’s all I’m gonna say for now, you’ll just have to see for yourselves.
